Choose wisely

I'm 17 and yeah I'm giving my Board exams this year, it's a crucial year for me. I've been studying in CBSE  since my childhood but then, just a couple of weeks before the 10th board exams I got an urge to change the board and get into a junior college and live a life that you see in the movies. Party's , hanging out with friends , getting drunk, have a healthy crowd, studious students this were the things that came in my mind when I thought of any of the junior colleges. I was bored of wearing the same uniform everyday , tired of completing a dozen of assignments and projects. It was not like , I didn't wanted to study but I wanted to enjoy the last two years happily. So, after the board exams I told my parents what it was all about and they happily agreed.
I filled the online form and applied to some good colleges in Mumbai.  A month passed and cut off list was out , basically there would be three list which would be announced in three different dates. So , in my case all the three days were terror for me, Some B graded colleges were allotted to me in all the three lists. I was down at the moment , then I tried applied offline for different colleges. Days after I lost 5 kg of weight I got the admission in Guru Nanak Khalsa College of Science, Arts and Commerce. I was all excited now.

Starting days.

I entered the college, there was hell lot of crowd I somehow managed to get to someone in the college. I asked my classroom number which I remember was Room No. 103 . He directed me to the first floor of the college, the college had the best infrastructure I had ever seen before. I entered the room, the class was all full I managed to get seat from where the teacher was audible. The day started,  different teachers came, gave their introduction and their lectures about how we should spend this two crucial years. It all got into my mind very quick as it was my first day and we all have a tendency to grasp better on the first day. The day got over and I made no friends which amazed me. I was feeling left out.

The second day as I entered my classroom, I was surprised to see there were only a few students attending the lectures it didn't bothered me that time but as the days passed I was not able to concentrate on my studies. There was no competition in college, the condition was getting worse day by day. I made no friends, never studied seriously the whole year, did all the unproductive work and in the end managed to pass. I was not satisfied. For the first time I felt I've done something wrong. I was feeling guilty, how good it would've been if I continued in my school the though haunted me till the starting of the 12th standard.

Now that I'm in 12th, I must forget all those thing and should do the best.

Advice.

My advice to all the students studying in the CBSE board and who are appearing for their 10th board exams is not to change the board. CBSE is among the best boards in the world. If you've completed your senior education from the CBSE board, chances are high that you would be able to clear the JEE and NEET entrance exams. The mistake I made was to get into a life where I can enjoy, these are the crucial years and the preparatory  years for your future. So, I would be ending my blog with the TVC commercial titles

                                        Choose wisely, live well.
